I am an abstract painter/printmaker living in Seattle. My work is represented by the Seattle Art Museum Gallery and has been purchased for both private and museum collections. I am also an art educator and love sharing my passion for art-making with my students in the Seattle area. I hold an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and graduated with honors from Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
Looking, responding, discovering. Art-making for me is the process of creating a visual tapestry of relationships between color, shape, texture and movement. My mixed-media paintings are inspired by both the nature of my coastal environment and my love of textile design. As I explore organic forms, I use collagraph printing to piece together my compositions, building patterns and connections through additional layers of gouache, acrylic and pencil. I enjoy playing with the positive and negative spaces in my work, emphasizing one then the other, back and forth, to create a conversation between my images.
